Essential oils have been a tool in my home since before my son was born. In fact, during my pregnancy is when I really upped my use of oils to support my bodies response to certain pregnancy symptoms. Naturally, essential oils would be my go-to for my little guy, too.
When using oils on little ones safety is the number one priority. With essential oils a drop is a dose and it is better to apply a small amount more frequently than using a lot at once. For babies use only 1 drop in a 10ml roller. For Toddlers you can take it up to 2-3 drops and for small children you can go up to 4 drops. Oils should be applied to the spine or the bottoms of the feet.
To make things easier, doTERRA has a set of oils that are mom-friendly. The Touch® collection features 9 of the most popular oils, optimally and effectively diluted for even the most sensitive skin. They are easy to use and great for throwing in the diaper bag. Or maybe you want your child’s care taker to feel comfortable using the oils, this is an easy way to do it.
This collection includes Lavender, Peppermint, Melaleuca, Frankincense, Oregano, OnGuard, DigestZen, Breathe and DigestZen. Last year, they made available the Emotional Touch® Collection. These rollers are made with the 6 Emotional Aromatherapy oils also optimally diluted.
The emotions oils have been key in getting over some big emotions in our house. From night terrors to temper tantrums to missing toys, the proprietary blends work wonders at helping us deal with our feelings.
